ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The March PPIC Statewide Survey on Californians and Their Government takes place as California’s 2010 election contests heat up and as the state’s economic problems show few signs of easing. The survey focuses on likely voters’ preferences for gubernatorial and senatorial candidates, job approval ratings for the governor and state legislature, and perceptions of same-sex marriage.

The survey also asks Californians about their overall mood and outlook for the state; their ratings of the job President Obama and Congress are doing; other national issues including Afghanistan and health-care reform; and ways that the state’s budget deficit could be reduced.

This survey was conducted with funding from The James Irvine Foundation. Box lunches will be provided at the conclusion of the event. There is no charge to attend and pre-registration is requested.

SPEAKER
PPIC research associate Dean Bonner is an expert in public opinion and survey research including political trust, participation and voting behavior.
