ABOUT THE PROGRAM
Comprehensive immigration reform, which may include legalizing unauthorized immigrants, is once again on the agenda. Many believe that legalization—which could extend to some 12 million immigrants—would have significant effects on the economy. For example, newly legal immigrants may change jobs, earn more income, and compete differently with native workers in the labor market. In "Immigrant Legalization: Assessing the Labor Market Effects,” researchers examine potential labor market outcomes and other possible economic effects of a legalization program.
