ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The May PPIC Statewide Survey on Californians and Their Government takes place with California’s 2010 primary election just around the corner and as Governor Schwarzenegger releases a revised 2010-11 state budget. The survey focuses on likely voters’ preferences for gubernatorial and senatorial candidates in the primaries and their views on Proposition 14, which would change the primary system itself. It also examines Californians’ preferences for candidates in hypothetical matchups in the November election. It asks about their overall mood and outlook for the state, their thoughts on state spending priorities in light of the state’s budget deficit, and their opinions about the legalization of marijuana.

This study was conducted with funding from The James Irvine Foundation. Lunch will be provided and there is no charge to attend. Pre-registration is requested.
