PPIC Statewide Survey: Californians and Their Government

Key findings from the current survey:

• Most California adults and likely voters (58% each) say Republicans in Congress should work with Democrats to improve the current federal health care law. Solid majorities also say it is the federal government’s responsibility to ensure health care coverage for all Americans.
• Majorities across parties and regions of the state support DACA protections, which shield some undocumented immigrants from deportation.
• Though most Californians approve of Jerry Brown’s job performance, nearly half want to see different policies from the next governor. Less than half say Senator Dianne Feinstein should run for reelection.

The PPIC Statewide Survey delivers objective, advocacy-free information on the perceptions, opinions, and public policy preferences of California residents. PPIC invites input, comments, and suggestions from policy and public opinion experts and from its own advisory committee, but survey methods, questions, and content are determined solely by the PPIC survey team.
