TITLE: Detailed Data Appendix to Business Without Borders? The Globalization of the California Economy

AUTHORS: Eli Miloslavsky and Howard J. Shatz with Ernesto Vilchis

PAGES: 72      DATE: June 2003

ABSTRACT: Business Without Borders? The Globalization of the California Economy (Howard J. Shatz, Public Policy Institute of California, San Francisco, 2003) assesses the level and nature of California's globalization and discusses policy implications. To do so, it uses more than two decades worth of data from multiple sources. This appendix, organized in the same order as the report, explains the sources of the data and describes how various estimates in the text were carried out. It can serve as a handbook for other researchers analyzing globalization at the state or sub-national level in the United States.
