The Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) has not taken a position on Proposition 93. PPIC does not take or support positions on any ballot measure or on any local, state, or federal legislation, nor does it endorse, support, or oppose any political parties or candidates for public office.
The Official California Voter Information Guide published by the California Secretary of State’s Office for the February 5, 2008, Presidential Primary Election includes an argument in favor of Proposition 93 that references a PPIC report. This report, published in 2004, measured the effects of term limits. The citation to this report by its proponents in the voter guide should in no way be seen as an endorsement of Proposition 93 or the specific reforms it advocates. PPIC had no role in drafting the ballot argument, nor was it asked to review it before it was submitted to the Secretary of State.
