Shayan Kaveh

Shayan Kaveh is a science communicator at Sustainable Conservation. He holds a master’s degree from the Bren School of Environmental Science and Management at the University of California, Santa Barbara. His graduate research, conducted with the PPIC Water Policy Center and Conservation International, focused on the potential of retired croplands for habitat restoration and water resilience in California and Brazil. Previously, he managed international youth immersion programs focused on food justice and indigenous activism for students from the US and Latin America with the organization Amigos de las Americas. During his undergraduate studies, he contributed to ecology research at UC Davis’s Genomic Variation Lab, supporting eDNA studies on bat diets in the Sacramento Valley, post-fire pollination in the Sierra, and aquatic species surveys in the Suisun Delta.
