California's fiscal problems are profound and enduring. The recent budget crisis has only exacerbated resource challenges in California—from the state's debt burden to legal constraints to pension obligations. First, we'll get a brief look at the far-reaching implications of the recently-enacted state budget from PPIC policy associate Margaret Weston. Then, Treasurer Bill Lockyer will join PPIC President Mark Baldassare for a discussion about current realities and options for a brighter fiscal future for California.
