ABOUT THE PROGRAM
The federal Affordable Care Act (ACA) calls for sweeping changes in health care, including state insurance laws and consumer protections. The California Department of Insurance will play a pivotal role in these changes, from regulating insurance products to protecting consumer rights.

Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones will discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by federal health reform. Kim Belshé, PPIC senior policy advisor and former Secretary of California’s Health and Human Services Agency, will then join him to discuss state efforts to deliver health care reform goals.
