Cantil-Sakauye—chief justice of California and leader of the state’s judicial branch—about the challenges and opportunities facing the courts as they seek to serve the needs of Californians. Topics include the relationship between California’s three branches of government, the effects of budget cuts on the court system, the importance of civics education, and the state supreme court’s role in the initiative process.
