ABOUT THE PROGRAM
At any one time tens of thousands of California children and youth have been removed from their homes because of maltreatment or neglect and placed under the care of the state’s foster care system. About 60,000 are in foster care currently, compared to 100,000 a decade ago. Caroline Danielson will discuss this and other noteworthy changes since 2000 in foster care and point out continuing challenges that the state faces.
This study was conducted with funding from the Stuart Foundation. Lunch will be provided and there is no charge to attend. Pre-registration is requested.
