ABOUT THE PROGRAM
With less than eight weeks remaining before the May 19 special election, the March PPIC Statewide Survey examines likely voters’ opinions about the six measures on the election ballot whose passage is critical to the 2009–2010 state budget. In this survey, likely voters also weigh in on proposed government reforms, including changes to the state constitution and the primary election system, and easing the 2/3 legislative majority requirement for budget passage. The survey also assesses Californians’ views on the current economic crisis and their interest in the Supreme Court’s upcoming decision on Proposition 8.
