California is preparing to expand Medi–Cal to millions of low–income adults who will become eligible for coverage under federal health reform in 2014. This expansion will require state and local policymakers to revisit their roles in providing health services to low–income residents—both those served by Medi–Cal and the millions of Californians projected to remain uninsured. PPIC research associate Shannon McConville will provide an overview followed by a panel discussion of state and local health care experts on the future of health care.
