Leslie A. Ortiz is a recent UCLA graduate and an intern at the Civics Center & UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, where she supported youth voter registration efforts in high schools and helped connect students with the resources needed to participate in democracy. As a student researcher, she co-authored research on youth voting and presented policy recommendations to lawmakers in Sacramento. Previously, she worked in Los Angeles City Council District 1, where she researched housing, planning, and legislative issues. She earned her degree in public affairs and Chicano studies.
