Tom O’Brien

Tom O’Brien, until his 2025 retirement, served as Driscoll’s general counsel as well as its head of human resources and public affairs. He remains associated with Driscoll’s, a family-owned berry company headquartered in Watsonville, California, with significant operations throughout the Americas, Australia, China, and Europe. Before joining Driscoll’s in 2014, he was an attorney in Washington, DC. From 1999– 2002, he served as deputy director of the Washington, DC, office of Governor Gray Davis, where he handled agricultural and trade issues, and before that was an associate administrator of an agency of the US Department of Agriculture. He currently serves on the Public Policy Institute of California’s Statewide Leadership Council. He received his JD from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis.
