Statewide Survey: Californians and Higher Education

PPIC’s latest survey examines Californians’ views on the state’s public colleges and universities, including their quality and affordability. It tracks perceptions of California’s three higher education systems and gauges preferences for state funding and raising revenues. It also looks at opinions on workforce preparation and campus issues, including free speech, hate crimes, and sexual assault. PPIC researcher Lunna Lopes will outline these and other key findings.

PPIC's latest survey examines Californians' views on President Donald Trump, the US Congress, and the Supreme Court—as well as their preferences on immigration policy, climate change, and abortion. It also looks at attitudes toward state elected officials, the governor's budget proposal, and transportation funding. PPIC researcher Dean Bonner will outline these and other key findings.

Yet the state faces a multibillion-dollar backlog of deferred maintenance and modernization for road, school, and water projects. It also faces an affordable housing crisis. This event will examine the challenges—and explore innovative solutions—from a local perspective.
