Sonja Petek

Sonja Petek is a fiscal and policy analyst at the California Legislative Analyst’s Office. She previously conducted public opinion research at the Public Policy Institute of California, examining the fiscal, social, and political attitudes of Californians. Prior to PPIC, she conducted qualitative and survey research at The Henne Group in San Francisco. In addition to serving on the PPIC Statewide Survey Advisory Committee, she is a member of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) and serves on the executive council of its Pacific Chapter, PAPOR; she was PAPOR president in 2015. She holds a master of public policy degree from Goldman School of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley and a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, where she majored in political science.
